Edward Shoffner

Biography

Edward Lee Shoffner, 77, of Lewistown, Ohio, passed away at 7:10 A.M. Thursday, September 5, 2013 at the Lima Memorial Health System. in Lima, Ohio.

He was born in Bellefontaine, Ohio January 19, 1936, to the late Harley and Opal Reed Shoffner. He married the former Mary Elizabeth Purtee and she preceded him in death October 7, 2011. He was also preceded in death by a son Ricky Dean; three sisters, Bernice Miller, Shirley Easton and Patricia “Shug” Miller; and two brothers, Ronald “Buck” Shoffner and Glenn “Huck” Shoffner.

He is survived by his four children, Ginger (Ruela) Newland and Cindy Shoffner, both of Cridersville, Ohio, Vickie (Sam) Allen of Wapakoneta, Ohio and Edward (Laura) Bobby Shoffner of Springfield, Ohio; two step-children, Brenda Carman of Marion, Ohio and Sandy Hood of Piqua, Ohio; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, step-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; two brothers, Melvin “Gene” (Dolores) Shoffner of Rancho Cordova, California and Lewis Alspaugh of Bellefontaine, and a sister-in-law, Mary Shoffner of Lakeview, Ohio.

Edward had retired as an employee of Logan County and was an avid hunter and fisherman.

Pastor Glenn Gault will officiate a graveside service at 1:00 P.M. Monday, September 9, 2013 at the Huntsville Cemetery in Huntsville. Ohio.

The funeral arrangements were handled by the staff of the Smith-Eichholtz Funeral Home in Lakeview, Ohio.
