Edwin Eugene Ehemann, 77, of Jackson Center passed away Friday morning, February 3, 2017 at Heartland of Indian Lake. Ed was born in Shelby County on June 29, 1939 to the late Kirby F. and Alice L. (Fogt) Ehemann.
Ed was a graduate of Jackson Center High School and obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Secondary Education from Ohio Northern University. He was a former teacher and had coached baseball, basketball, track and football. Ed was a basketball official and worked 1265 games.
Ed managed the family farm, Ehemann Brothers Farm, LLC, which he co-owned with his brother Kirby Eheman, Jr. Ed enjoyed pitching horseshoes and had run some 10K races. He was a member of the Shelby County Retired Teachers, the Ohio Retired Teachers, the Shelby County Horseshoe Pitchers, Ohio Horseshoe Pitchers Association and the National Horseshoe Pitching Association. Ed had previously worked at Copeland Corp. in Sidney and several temporary employment agencies in recent years.
Ed is survived by his brother Kirby L. Ehemann Jr. of Fremont, Ohio; a nephew Kyle T. (Sayuri) Ehemann of Louisiana; nieces Trenda Ehemann of Fremont and Trilby (Jim) Leach of Tennessee.
Graveside services will be held Monday, March 27, 2017 at 1pm in Glen Cemetery with Pastor Ed Shady officiating.
