Eileen Claassen

Eileen Claassen, 90, of Bellefontaine, Ohio, passed away Sunday, October 23, 2011 at Logan Acres Care Center in Bellefontaine, Ohio. She was born in Liverpool, England February 20, 1921, to the late John and Sarah (Hill) Scanlon.

On May 22, 1948, she married Franciscus Jacobus Claassen and he preceded her in death in 1990.

She is survived by a son, Paul (Debbie) Claassen of Bellefontaine; 2 sisters, Josephine Thomas of Scarborough, Ontario, Canada and Doreen Hall of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada; 4 grandchildren, Sarah Stirling, Natalie Lehman, and Joshua and Jenae Wolf; and 5 great grandchildren, Zenna Stirling, Avi and Gunnar Lehman, and Benjamin and Luke Wolf.

A homemaker, Eileen was a member of the Women’s Air Force of England (W.A.F.).

Pastor Jonathan Bull will officiate a memorial service at 1 P.M., Saturday, October 29, 2011, at the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine, where friends may call one hour prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial contributions be made to the Logan Acres Activity Fund 2739 County Road 91 Bellefontaine, OH 43311
