Eileen Faler

Eileen C. Faler, 97, of Botkins, passed away at 5:42 a.m. on Wednesday, September 16, 2015 at Green Hills Center in West Liberty. She was born in Shelby County, Ohio on October 18, 1917 to the late Christian and Caroline (Kaehler) Klopfenstein.

She married Harold K. Faler on Febuary 18, 1940, and he preceded her in death on May 1, 2007. Eileen was also preceded in death by two sons; Donald P. and Kenneth A. Faler; three sisters, Emma Wilt, Florence Shipman and Martha Spicer; and a brother, Ivan Klopfenstein.

Eileen is survived by her two daughters, Nancy (James) Carman of Lakeview and Marilyn (James) Bidwell of Kenton; seven grandchildren, Darin (Shannon) Bidwell of Kenton, Mike (Kim) Faler of Ashville, Chad (Fame) Faler of Huntsville, Donna (Lewis) Pickering of Jackson Center, Jodie (Ken) Guevara of Verona, Kentucky, Julie (Mark) Dixon of Bellefontaine and Stephanie (Mark) Koldan of Bowling Green; 9 step-grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; and many nieces and nephews.

A homemaker, Eileen was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Jackson Center. She served as a Sunday School Teacher and on the Alter Guild at the church. Eileen was also a member of the Junior Mission Band and was a 4-H Advisor for many years.

Pastor Scott Johnson will officiate a funeral service at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, September 21, 2015 at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home, 214 W. Pike Street, Jackson Center. Visitation will be Sunday, September 20th from 1-5 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Glen Cemetery in Port Jefferson, Ohio.
