Eileen L. Kemp, 91, of Bellefontaine passed away Friday morning, May 6, 2016 at Heartland of Bellefontaine.
She was born in Bellefontaine on March 19, 1925 to the late Earl and Susie (LeVan) Carpenter. Eileen was also preceded in death by a sister Virginia Albright and two brothers-in-law, Marvin and Ralph Kemp.
Eileen graduated from Zanesfield School in 1943, where she played on the basketball team. She later briefly worked at Rockwell in Bellefontaine. She was the best cook in the world and enjoyed flower gardening and watching birds.
Eileen is survived by her husband, Arthur Kemp, whom she married on February 15, 1954 in Richmond, Indiana. She is also survived by a brother, Kenny and Libby Carpenter of Bellefontaine, a niece, Sharon (Larry) Reames of Eloy, AZ, three brothers-in-laws; Donald (Jane) Kemp of Sidney, John (Lottie) Kemp of Cheyenne, WY, and James (Geneva) Kemp of Lexington, KY, two sisters-in-laws; Carolyn (Tom) Moore of California, and Martha Treen of Sidney.
Pastor Jeffory Willetts will officiate the funeral service on Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home, Bellefontaine. Visitation will be two hours prior to the funeral. Burial will be in Glen Cemetery, Port Jefferson, Ohio.
