Elizabeth Irene Carpenter, 79, of Bellefontaine, Ohio passed away Tuesday, April 11, 2017, at Campbell Place in Bellefontaine.
She was born in Logan County Ohio May 26, 1937, the daughter of the late William and Alice Virginia (Wesser) Johnson. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James Nathan Carpenter; two sons, Mark James Carpenter and Randall David Carpenter; an infant daughter, Lydia Carpenter; and a granddaughter, Amanda Morris.
She is survived two daughters, Lori (John) Morris of Zanesfield, Ohio and Jo’Anne (Mike) Holland of DeGraff, Ohio; three grandchildren, Megan Salem of Mentor, Ohio, Jenifer Stradling of St. Paris, Ohio, and Joshua Holland of Urbana, Ohio; three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Barbara Burton of Bellefontaine and Joan McCullough of Miami, Florida; one brother, David West of Cape Coral, Florida and numerous nieces and nephews.
Elizabeth was a member of the McKees Creek Church in Bellefontaine. She and her husband owned and operated Carpenter’s Greenhouse for many years. She loved her gardening, and also enjoyed sewing, puzzles and crafts. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family.
Pastor Floyd Lundy will officiate a memorial service Monday, April 17, 2017, at 12 noon at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home & Cremation Center 321 N. Main St. in Bellefontaine. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service. Burial will be at the Highland Memorial Cemetery in West Liberty, Ohio.
The staff of the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Bellefontaine assisted the family with the arrangements.
