Elizabeth Ann Flory, 39, of Belle Center passed away Friday evening, February 26, 2016 at the Kobacker House, Columbus, Ohio following a courageous battle with cancer.
Beth was born in East Cleveland on November 30, 1976 to John and Gail (Catley) Gehring. She was a 1995 graduate of Notre Dame Cathedral Latin High School in Chardon. She attended Mt. Union College and then transferred to the University of Tennessee where she obtained her Bachelor’s degree with a Psychology major and Child and Family Studies minor in 2000. Beth then earned a Master’s degree in Elementary Education from John Carroll University in 2001. She was a member of the National Science Teachers Association and taught with the Columbus City Schools from 2001-2005 and the Upper Arlington Schools from 2005-2013.
Beth was a member of Huntsville United Methodist Church where she was active with many church functions. Fundraising for Breast Cancer and Children’s Cancer were efforts that she strongly supported.
Beth is survived her husband Chad Flory, whom she married on April 29, 2006 in Reynoldsburg. She is also survived by twin sons, Owen and Carter; her parents John and Gail Gehring of Chardon; her maternal grandmother Winifred Catley of Chardon; her sister and brother-in-law Jennifer and Tony Mele of Concord; and nephews David and John Mele of Concord.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, March 5, 2016 at 3:30pm at the Huntsville United Methodist Church with Pastor Bryan Meadows officiating. Visitation will be held two hours prior to the service at the church.
The Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home, Belle Center assisted the family with arrangements.
