Elma L. Fry, 74, of Belle Center, Ohio, passed away Monday, April 12, 2010, at the Community Hospital in Springfield, Ohio. She was born April 6, 1936 in Luzerne County, Pennsylvania to the late Creston D. and Letha M. (Sickler) Gallup.
She married Robert Lewis Fry in Lakeview, Ohio, and he preceded her in death October 25, 2003. A daughter Julia, preceded her in death February 25, 1973, as well as a sister, Alice Gallup, and daughter-in-law, Rita Fry.
Surviving is a son, Lawrence “Larry” Fry of Lakeview, Ohio, and his fiancé Gail Short; a daughter, Suzette “Sue” A. (David) Patrick of Belle Center; four grandchildren, Andrea Ward, Chris Patrick, Amiee (Steve) Pope and Nichole (Kevin) Peterson; five great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A homemaker, Elma was a member of St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church in Russells Point, Ohio. She was also a member of the Eagles, Am Vets, and the American Legion Auxiliaries, and the V.F.W. She enjoyed playing the keyboard, knitting and crocheting and her cats.
Calling hours are Wednesday April 14, 2010, from 4 to 7 P.M. at the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Belle Center. The funeral mass will begin at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, April 15, 2010, at the St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church with visitation from 10 to 11 A.M. at the church. Father Harold Kist will officiate the service, and burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery in Belle Center.
