Elmer T. Wood, Jr., 80, of Belle Center, Ohio, passed away Thursday, October 20, 2011 at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Kenton, Ohio. He was born in Hardin County Ohio November 18, 1930 a son of the late Elmer T., Sr. and Fern (Bates) Wood.
On January 15, 1954, in Kenton, he married the former Mabel Wanda Wells and she preceded him in death February 7, 2005. He was also preceded in death by 2 sisters, Betty Chamberlain and Lureta Oates and a brother, Ora Chamberlain.
Survivors include daughters, Lee (Norman) Bashias of Belle Center, Teddi (Jeff) Krock of Kenton; grandchildren, Tom Dennis of Belle Center, Crystal McNeal of Kenton; a great-grandson, Zander Dennis of Belle Center; sisters, Vivian Wood of Arizona and Nancy Wilson of Florida; a brother, Paul Wood of Washington DC, numerous nieces, nephews and special friends, Lynda & Nala Lay of Belle Center.
He retired in 1988 from Rockwell as a receiving inspector. He was an Army Veteran and Past Commander of the Roundhead VFW Post #8832.
A private graveside with military honors will be held at a later date.
