Emma Jane Stiner, 86, of Huntsville, Ohio, died at 10:45 P.M. Sunday, July 5, 2009, at the Logan Acres Care Center in Bellefontaine, Ohio. She was born in Sedalia on February 7, 1923, a daughter of the late Lawrence Hakes and Iva Thornton Hakes Thomas.
On November 2, 1940, she married Robert L. Stiner and he died August 7, 1997. She also was preceded in death by a sister, Opal; and three brothers, James, Golden and Leroy.
Survivors include a daughter, Judie (Gene) Burnett of North Canton; granddaughter, Nicol Wendt of Brimfield; great-granddaughter, Casey Marie of Brimfield; sister, Freda (Forest) Barclay of South Charleston; sister-in-law, Jan Thomas of Springfield; and many nieces and nephews.
A homemaker, she retired from Standard Oil in Toledo, and worked at Westinghouse in Lima. She was a member of the Indian Lake Community Church, Indian Lake Moose Lodge 1533, Indian Lake Elks 2792 and was a trustee for the Seminole Island Lot Owners Association. She frequented The Landing in Russells Point.
Pastor Karen Blackburn will conduct the funeral at 11 A.M. Thursday, July 9, 2009, at the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine, where calling hours are from 6 P.M. to 8 P.M., Wednesday, July 8, 2009. Interment will follow the funeral service in the Huntsville Cemetery in Huntsville, Ohio.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Indian Isles Christmas Lighting Association.
