Emmett Zell

Emmett “Steve” Stephen Zell, 72, of Bellefontaine, Ohio, passed away Thursday morning, January 16, 2014 at his home.

He was born in Bellefontaine January 1, 1942, to the late Emmett Edward and Lilly Marie (Tevis) Zell. Steve was also preceded in death by a brother, David Zell; a daughter, Sharon Ann Zell; and a step-daughter, Betty Jo (Predmore) Zirkle.

He married Betty Jane Rockhold June 29, 1974, in Bellefontaine and she survives. He is also survived by a son, Emmett Stephen Zell, Jr. of Columbus, Ohio; step-daughters, Linda (Ed) Neal of Lewistown, Ohio and Beth Ann (John) Vorhes of Waynesfield, Ohio; step-sons, Robert (Shirley) Predmore of Ft. Jennings, Ohio and John Predmore of Bellefontaine; many grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and sisters, Kathy Faught of West Mansfield, Ohio and Julia Janecka of Rancho Cordova, California.

Steve was a veteran of the United States Navy. He retired from Buckeye Pump and was a member of the First Church of God in Bellefontaine.

A graveside service will be held at 12:00 noon Monday, January 20, 2014 at the Dayton National Cemetery in Dayton, Ohio.

The staff of the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine assisted the family with the arrangements.
