Ephonia Mae “Mazie” Coleman, 86, passed away peacefully at her home in Bellefontaine, Ohio Monday, November 5, 2012 at 7:20 P.M.
Mazie was born February 7, 1926 in Bellefontaine, to the late Irene Elizabeth Crump Hawkins and Theodore James Lewis. She was also preceded in death by three brothers Albert Hawkins, William Hawkins and Clarence E. Lewis, and a step-sister, Isabelle Newsome.
Mazie married Eddie H. Coleman February 13, 1959 in Dayton, Ohio, and he survives along with a son Eddie C. (Lisa Ann) Coleman, Jr.; a grandson, Tyrone C. Coleman; two granddaughters, Angel Mae Coleman, Haley Marie Coleman and a great-grandson, Tevin J. (Coleman) Burris.
In 1986, Mazie retired from Westinghouse in Bellefontaine. She had a true passion for Bingo and scratching lottery tickets. Mazie was a wonderful grandmother and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She will be forever missed by her family and friends.
The funeral service will be held Monday, November 12, 2012 at the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine at 1:00 P.M., with Rev. Frank McCullough officiating. There will be two hours of calling prior to the service. Interment will follow the funeral service at the Bellefontaine Cemetery in Bellefontaine, Ohio.
