Ermalene Laird

Biography

Ermalene M. Laird, 88, of DeGraff, Ohio, passed away at 4:20 P.M. Monday, December 10, 2012 at the Mercy McAuley Center in Urbana, Ohio.

She was born February 23, 1924 in Pullman, West Virginia, a daughter of the late Charles Boyd and Hattie L. (Meeks) Wright.

On September 30, 1956, she married Robert Francis Laird and he preceded her in death November 11, 2005. She was also preceded in death by a son, Joseph Boyd Wright and a sister, Geraldine Bonnell.

Survivors include a daughter, Cynthia (Ray Quay) Laird of Huntsville and three grandsons.

A homemaker, she was also a cosmetologist and Licensed Medical Assistant. Erma was an active member of the Order of Eastern Star in Belpre, Ohio. She was an excellent cook, loved all animals and was a kind hearted person who was always willing to help others.

Per Mrs. Laird’s request, her body was cremated and services will be held at a later date in Parkersburg, West Virginia at the convenience of the family.

Memorial contributions may be made in Erma’s memory to the Logan County Humane Society.

The staff of the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine assisted the family with the arrangements.
