Biography

Ernest Dwan Brown, 59, of Lima and formerly of Bellefontaine and Kenton, passed away Monday afternoon, July 27, 2015 at Lima Manor surrounded by his family. He was born in Springfield on June 24, 1956 to the late James C. and Mary Elizabeth (Johnson) Brown, Sr. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Laura Jo Higgins and a brother, Dane M. Brown.

Dwan was a 1974 graduate of Bellefontaine High School. He worked as a bartender, spent several years working for Copeland’s in Sidney and eventually retired from Hardin Memorial Hospital where he worked in the Maintenance Department for 14 years. Dwan was a member of New Birth Living Word Ministries in Alger. He loved spending time with his grandchildren. Dwan enjoyed fishing and following Ohio State football.

Dwan is survived by his wife, Donna (Spivey) Brown, whom he married on June 4, 2015 at Kindred Hospital in Lima. He is also survived by three sons, Braden Spivey, Andre Spivey and Tevin Banks, all of Lima; five grandchildren; brother, James (Rebecca) Brown of Lima; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Pastor Wayne T. Vaughn will officiate a memorial service on Wednesday, August 5, 2015 at 3pm at the Auburn Avenue Baptist Church, Bellefontaine where friends may call two hours prior to the service.

The Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home, Bellefontaine assisted the family with arrangements.
