Ethel Geraldine Lapp

Ethel Geraldine (Saylor) Lapp, of West Liberty, Ohio, passed away peacefully May 9, 2017, in her home surrounded by her family.

Geraldine was born June 3, 1939, to Robert and Ethel (Fullerton) Saylor, who proceeded her in death. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, James Saylor; sisters-in-law, Barbara Saylor and Mary Neer; brothers-in-law, David Yoder, Daniel Lapp, Paul Lapp, and nephews Richie Saylor and Donald Saylor.

She grew up on the family farm in Belle Center, Ohio and moved to West Liberty when she wed Mark Lapp  July 28, 1968. She was a wonderful homemaker and a caretaker to many. She spent the majority of her life devoted to helping Mark run the family farm. Her great joys were her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved working in her flower gardens, watching her children and grandchildren’s sporting events and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her husband of forty eight years, Mark; children, Brian (Lisa) Lapp of Winchester, Virginia, Susan (Kevin) Cox of West Liberty, and Melinda (Peter) McGuire of West Liberty; seventeen grandchildren, Taelor, Alandra, Colton, Kaden, Kenedie, Kambree, Keten, Marenna, Drayton, Emberly, Tevis, Sully, Gibzen and Zaydee Cox, Deven and Kyle McGuire, and Andrew Lapp and two great-grandchildren, Bryson and Jaxson Buchanan.  She is also survived by her brother, Richard Saylor; sisters-in-law, Wanda Saylor and Betty Lapp; a brother-in- law, Jim Neer, and many nieces and nephews.

Geraldine will be honored in a private graveside service for her immediate family.

The staff of the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home in West Liberty assisted the family with the arrangements.
