Ethel L. Jackson, 89, of East Liberty, passed away on Sunday, June 28, 2015 at Green Hills Center, West Liberty.

She was born on March 15, 1926 in Zanesfield, Ohio, a daughter of the late Edward and Mary (Marmon) Waltzer. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Ina Kaiser; a daughter-in-law, Kathy Jackson; a sister, Ida Henry and a granddaughter.

On June 25, 1946 in Cadiz, Ohio, she married Robert L. Jackson Sr. and he survives along with a daughter, Louise Lancaster of Denver, Colorado; a son, Robert L. (Mary) Jackson Jr. of Bellefontaine; grandchildren, Cindy Allen, Sheila Boots, Jonathan Clark, Joseph Gresko, Laurie Gresko, Angela Merriman and Kevin Kaiser; great-grandchildren, Ashley Jackson, Jonathan Fenimore, Justin Milton, Zachary Milton, Brice Clark, Noah Boots, Cody Boots, Landon Veloz, Sabastian Silas; sister, Glenna (Gorden) Wyandt, West Liberty; a brother, Herman (Alice) Waltzer of West Mansfield; brother-in-law, Keith Henry of West Mansfield and many nieces and nephews.

She worked for the Zerbee Corporation during WWII, Baiers Restaurant in East Liberty and was also a cashier at Dayton Power & Light Company and United Telephone Company. She was a secretary from 1960 at the former East Liberty Elementary until 1990 where she retired at the now Ben Logan Schools.

A 1945 graduate of Zanesfield High School, she was very musical inclined, having played the piano, organ, violin and accordion. She formed the Carillon Bell Choir and was active for 20 years where they played at special events. She attended Goshen Friends Church and had directed Bible School at many local churches.

Pastor Wayne Downing will conduct a funeral service on Thursday, July 2, 2015 at 11 a.m. at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home, 321 North Main Street, Bellefontaine where friends may call on Wednesday, July 1, 2015 from 6 – 8 p.m. and also Thursday, one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in East Liberty Cemetery.

Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home, Bellefontaine, assisted the family with arrangements.
