Ethel Margaret Shinkle, 93, of Bellefontaine moved into her Heavenly mansion on Sunday, January 1, 2017 from Green Hills Care Center. She was born in Columbus, Ohio on September 11, 1923 to the late Clarence and Inez V. (Chaney) Shinkle. Ethel was also preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.
Ethel worked as a nurses aid at Mary Rutan Hospital for over thirty years. She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Bellefontaine. Ethel was a former Sunday School teacher. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and sewing; she made the majority of her own clothes, as well as dresses for the young nieces she helped raise.
Ethel is survived by several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews; some of whom she invested multiple years assisting in their daily care and rearing.
Pastor Ken Neighoff will officiate a funeral service on Thursday, January 5, 2017 at 2pm at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Bellefontaine. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral. Private burial will take place in Lynchburg Masonic Cemetery, Lynchburg, Ohio.
