Evelyn Eileen Stayrook, age 77, of Bellefontaine, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, May 14, 2014 at Mary Rutan Hospital in Bellefontaine.
She was born August 10, 1936, in Nelsonville, Ohio to the late Elmer and Beatrice (Nelson) Rutter. Also preceding her in death were her siblings, Geraldine Davis, Martha Heinlein, Elmer Rutter and Arthur Rutter.
On October 29, 1956, she married Earl Junior Stayrook at the Stoney Creek Church and he survives along with their children, Mark Alan Stayrook, Lisa Marie (Karl) Kennedy and Susan Renée Dearth all of Bellefontaine; grandchildren, Ben (Renae) Kennedy, Andy Kennedy, Katie, Kristy and Kody Riley; great grandchildren, Kendra, Hailey and Lauren Kennedy, Lucy Flood and Troy Hughes; a step great grandchild, Jason Wilson; step great-great grandchildren, Zayden and Xavier; sisters, Mary Rutter of Bellefontaine, Edith (Richard) Akers of Vandalia, Ohio, Bonnie Cook of Toledo, Ohio, Loretta Sue Rutter of Pennsylvania; and a brother, Larry (Wanda) Rutter of Pomeroy, Ohio.
Evelyn received her nursing degree from Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Ohio and worked as an LPN at Mary Rutan Hospital for forty five years retiring in 2001.
She was a member of the Church of the Brethren. A collector of angels, she loved her flower garden, especially her roses.
Pastor Fred Clogg will officiate the 1:00 P.M. funeral service Friday, May 16, 2014 at the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine where friends may call from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. prior to the service. Interment will be at the Highland Memorial Cemetery in West Liberty, Ohio.
