Foster W. Schrader, 83, of Belle Center, Ohio, passed away late Friday, January 24, 2014, at Mary Rutan Hospital in Bellefontaine, Ohio.
He was born in Logan County Ohio September 23, 1930, the son of the late Henry Albert and Lydia Regina (Mentzger) Schrader.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a son, Stephen Foster Schrader and a brother, Robert Schrader.
On July 3, 1949, he married Vivian Baughman at the New Richland Baptist Church in Belle Center and she survives along with their son, Stanley Albert Schrader of Belle Center; seven grandchildren, Chelle (Rob) Price and Erin (Virgil) all of Mesa, Arizona, Gary (Christina) Schrader of Oktaha, Oklahoma, Theresa (John) Mitchel of Glendale, Arizona, Ty (Rebecca) Schrader of Tampa, Florida, Shannon (Michael) Hoffman of Hubert, North Carolina and Shawn Schrader of Ridgeway, Ohio; eighteen great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; a sister, Joyce (Herb) Mitchell of LaRue, Ohio; a brother, Allie (Betty) Schrader of Belle Center, and a daughter in law, Ginger Booth of Grand Canyon, Arizona.
Foster was a 1948 graduate of Belle Center High School and later worked as the head custodian where he oversaw fifty six schools in Mesa, Arizona. In 2002, he moved back to Belle Center from Arizona, where he went to work for D.A.B. in Bellefontaine. His first love was horses ever since he was a child. He loved to play all stringed instruments and enjoyed country and church gospel music. He attended the New Richland Baptist Church and belonged to the Rush Creek Sportsmen’s Club. He also enjoyed woodworking.
The funeral service will be held Wednesday, January 29, 2014, at 11:00 A.M. at the New Richland Baptist Church with Pastor Steve Smith officiating. Calling hours will be held Tuesday, January 28, 2014 from 2 to 4 P.M. and 6 to 8 P.M. at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home in Belle Center. Interment will be at the Fairview Cemetery in Belle Center.
