Frances Adelia Wilson, age 93, of Belle Center, Ohio passed away at 2:20 P.M. Sunday, November 5, 2017 at Green Hills Community in West Liberty, Ohio. She was born in Neath South Wales, United Kingdom June 18, 1924, to the late William John and Violet (Davies) Lewis.
On May 22, 1944, she married Harry L. Wilson and he preceded her in death April 22, 1978. Adelia was also preceded in death by her siblings, Roy Lewis, Maldwyn Lewis, Lyndon Lewis, John Lewis, Mirrelle Ross, Christine John and a son-in-law, David Stidam in 2003.
She is survived by her daughters, Alvine Wilson of Dayton, Ohio, Carol Watkins of Dallas, Texas, and Denise Stidam of Belle Center; a son, Dennis A. (Sherrie) Wilson of Belle Center; grandchildren, Ashley (Darren) McDowell of Dallas, Texas, Courtney (David) Wilkinson of Atlanta, Georgia, Lindsey (David) Beran of Dallas, Texas, Darcy (Travis) Ramsey of Mt. Victory, Ohio and David Shad (Sandra) Stidam of West Liberty; great grandchildren, Maura and Mason McDowell, Haley Wilkinson, Lola and Anna Ramsey, and Blythe, Blair, and Winston Beran; her sisters, Junnette Tamplin, and Anne (Don) Nicolson, both of the United Kingdom; a brother, Darryl Lewis also of the United Kingdom and host of nieces, nephews, and their families in Wales, England, Australia, and Abu Dhabi.
Adelia came to the United States as a warbride traveling on the Queen Mary in 1946. She was a member of the Belle Center Church of Christ where she taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School. Adelia was a member of the American Legion Women’s Auxiliary and Willard Stout Post Past Presidents. She was a former member of the Progress Club, King’s Daughters, and the Warbrides’ Club of Logan County. Adelia had worked on many different crafting projects. Crocheting, sewing, floral arrangements, ceramics, and cooking are some of the things Adelia had enjoyed throughout the years.
Pastor Kris Langstaff will officiate the funeral service at 12 noon Thursday, November 9, 2017 at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home in Belle Center. Visitation will be held two hours prior to the funeral service at the funeral home. Burial will be at the Fairview Cemetery in Belle Center.
The funeral arrangements are in the care of the staff of the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home in Belle Center.
