Frank “Flip” Phillips, 74, of Bellefontaine, Ohio, went home to be with the Lord Friday, December 2, 2011 at Heartland of Bellefontaine. He was born February 19, 1937 in Bellefontaine, to the late Albert M. and Edith “Juanita” (Richards) Phillips.

On September 20, 1959, he married Donna Wallace in Bellefontaine, and she preceded him in death January 7, 2007. Also preceding him in death was a sister, Millie Collins.

Frank is survived a son, Scott (Angie) Phillips and daughters, Debi (Todd) Henry and Deanna (Dan) Robb all of Bellefontaine; 2 brothers, Michael (Lorae) Phillips of Casstown, Ohio and Albert (Sue) Phillips II of Gulf Shores, Alabama; a brother-in-law, Curtis Collins of East Liberty, Ohio; 7 grandchildren, Brandon, Brett, and Brice Henry, Carrie and Derek Robb, and Hayley and Hannah Phillips; and 2 step grandchildren, Amber Fyffe and Abygail Herman.

Frank worked for Miles Meat Market, was a State Farm Agent and retired in 1997 from Glacier Diado.

A 1956 Bellefontaine High School graduate, Frank was a member of the First Church of God where he was on the bus ministry, home mission board, children’s ministry, was a Sunday school teacher, an usher, cooked for prayer breakfast and started the food pantry at the church. He was a coach for the Hi-Point Baseball Association and was an umpire for twenty years. He also refereed football and basketball. Frank was one of the original members of the Bellefontaine Box 15 Volunteer Fire Department.

Calling hours are Monday, December 5, 2011, from 2 to 4 P.M. and 6 to 8 P.M. at the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine. Pastor’s Gary Swogger and Gary Brown will officiate the 11:00 A.M. funeral service Tuesday, December 6, 2011, at the First Church of God in Bellefontaine with 1 hour of visitation prior to the service. Interment will follow the funeral service at the Highland Memorial Cemetery in West Liberty, Ohio.
