Fred R. Nutter, 84, of Bellefontaine, passed away Friday, May 6, 2016 at his home. He was born in Logan, Ohio on March 7, 1932 to the late Walter Virgil and Gladys Lucille (Baird) Nutter. He was also preceded in death by his granddaughter, Kelly Ware; a sister Maxine Chism; and two brothers, Stanley E. and Carl E. Nutter.
Fred married his wife Barbara “Bobbie” in 1973, and she survives, along with a daughter, Lynn Ware and a son, Chuck (Lori) Stevens; a special niece, Amy Stewart; grandchildren Nikki (John) Shaner, Ryan Ware, Chris Ware, Andy Stevens, Amanda (Michael) Davis, Lindsey Stevens and Ross Stevens; great grandchildren, Ashlyn, Kaitlyn, Riley and Bennett Shaner, Wyatt and Gabriel Predmore, and Sawyer Davis; and a brother, Jack Nutter.
A car salesman for Byers in Columbus, Fred served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and Vietnam War. He enjoyed woodworking, going to flea markets, and most especially spending time with his family.
Pastor Bryan Meadows will officiate a graveside service at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 14, 2016 in Greenwood-Union Cemetery in DeGraff, Ohio with military rites performed by the Logan County Veterans Honor Guard.
