Fred Penrod

Fred W. Penrod, age 67, of DeGraff, Ohio, passed away at 4:00 P.M. Friday, April 11, 2014, at Mary Rutan Hospital in Bellefontaine, Ohio.

He was born in Bellefontaine September 23, 1946, to the late Donald F. and Dorothy Penrod. On May 20, 1966, he married the former Jackie Finfrock, and she survives.

He is also survived by his three children, Kim (Jeff) Sanford of DeGraff, Lezlie (Jon) Penrod of DeGraff and Eric Penrod of Bellefontaine; seven grandchildren, Brandon, Meagan, Tyler, Camren, Lauryn, Ethan and Keira, and many nieces and nephews.

A self-employed contractor, Fred was a United States Army Veteran and attended the Quincy United Methodist Church in Quincy, Ohio. He enjoyed boating, camping and his trade of building things. He was family oriented and dedicated his life to his family and friends. Fred was a caring man and possessed a wonderful sense of humor. He especially enjoyed the time he spent playing cards with his poker buddies. Simply stated…Fred just loved life!

Pastor C. Franklin James will officiate the funeral service at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, April 15, 2014, at the Quincy United Methodist Church in Quincy. Calling hours will be held Monday, April 14, 2014 from 4 to 8 P.M. at the church and one hour prior to the funeral service on Tuesday. Interment will be at the Fairview Cemetery in Quincy.

The funeral arrangements were in the care of the staff of the Daring & Sanford Funeral Home in DeGraff.
