Garry Hitt

Garry B. Hitt, 77, of Bellefontaine, passed away on Wednesday, August 12, 2015 at his residence.

He was born on September 1, 1937 in Springfield, Ohio to the late Clarence and Margaret (Smith) Hitt. He is also preceded in death by his sisters, Joan Hitt and Artis Davis.

On September 29, 1973, in West Liberty, Ohio, he married the former Charlotte Corbett and she survives along with his children, Terry, Becky, Candice (Tracy Prater) and Parry Hitt; two grandchildren, Garrett and Grace Prater; and his siblings, Peggy Roberts, John Hitt and Ted Hitt.

Garry retired in 1995 from Navistar.

A U.S. Navy veteran, Garry attended McKee’s Creek Chapel. He was a taxidermist and enjoyed hunting, fishing and trapping.

Pastor Floyd Lundy will officiate a 3:00 p.m. funeral service on Saturday, August 15, 2015 at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home, 101 Zanesfield Rd., West Liberty, where friends may call from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
