Gary B. Gillen, 75, of Belle Center went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, November 18, 2015 in Heartland of Bellefontaine.

He was born on October 28, 1940 in Bellefontaine, the son of the late Richard Earl and Wanda Irene (Linson) Gillen. He is also preceded in death by a brother, Mick Gillen and a sister-in-law, Sue Gillen.

On February 13, 1960, he married the former Linda L. LeVan in Logan Country, Ohio and she survives in Belle Center along with their children; Beverly (Richard) Carson of Kenton, Dave (Emily) Gillen of Huntsville, Patty Gillen of Belle Center, and Debbie (Bill) Akers of Lewistown, eight grandchildren; Carl (Nicole), David, Billy (Phylicia), Heather, Kyle, Brandon, Haley, and Hannah, three great-grandchildren; Cade, Ella, and Akierah, four sisters; Sharon Shirk of Bellefontaine, Diane (Brad) Miller of Wapakoneta, Barb (Mike) McCarren and Pam Gillen, both of Belle Center, and one brother, Chuck (Tina) Gillen of Lehigh, FL, many nieces and nephews, several aunts including Miriam Fulmer of Huntsville and close friends, Keith & Deb Kavanaugh and other close friends at Heartland of Bellefontaine.

Gary attended Belle Center School and spent his career as a truck driver. He worked for O.D.O.T. before going independent where he hauled for Duff Quarry, Northwood and others. He owned and operated his own trucking company, Gillen Trucking, in Florida. He had attended the New Richland Baptist Church.

He loved spending time camping and fishing, especially with his children and grandchildren. His family brought great joy and happiness to his life. He also enjoyed playing guitar, banjo, mandolin, harmonica, and he liked to play cards too.

Pastor Steve Smith with officiate a funeral service on Tuesday, November 24, 2015 at 12noon in the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home, 306 N. Elizabeth St. Belle Center, OH 43310. Friends may call on Monday from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm at the funeral home and again on Tuesday, one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Belle Center.
