George Lynn Adams, 62, of Bellefontaine, passed away at his home on Thursday, December 3, 2015.
He was born on March 3, 1953 a son of the late Alice E. Beltz. On May 19, 2007 in Bellefontaine, he married the former Diana Grumbling and she survives in Bellefontaine.
George is also survived by a daughter, Angel (Mel Ian) Baker of Bellefontaine; son, John Adams of Lexington, Ohio; step-daughter, Kelly (Mike) Instine of DeGraff; step-son, Andrew (Nichole) Grumbling of Florida; grandchildren, Jordan Wilkerson, Mel Ian Baker Jr., Evan Baker, Michaela Baker, Raychael DeLong, Brooklynn Instine; Carson Instine, Logan Instine, Faith Instine and Braxton Adams; sisters, Jane McKee of Bellefontaine, Shirley (Danny) Downing of Bellefontaine, Trudy Beltz of Bellefontaine, Jo (Tom) Reffitt of Bluffton; brother, John (Buffy) Adams of Bellefontaine; several nieces and nephews and his mother-in-law, Nettie Nolan of Bellefontaine.
He was a Medic with the U.S. Army from 1971 to 1973. He gave the ultimate gift in donating his body to medical research to help in the search for a cure for cancer. A very giving man, who loved his family and sports, he was a 1971 graduate of Logan Hills High School where he played football and baseball. He loved music, dancing, bingo and casinos, his cats and also enjoyed bird watching. He always enjoyed his food, although he would never gain a pound. He considered himself a very lucky man who was loved by so many and felt very blessed.
George was also a member of the Eagles, AMVETS and former Post Commander of the American Legion.
A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held on Tuesday, December 8, 2015 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the American Legion, 120 Colton Ave. Bellefontaine, Ohio 43311. Pastor Rob Fulton will lead a Service of Remembrance beginning at 6:00 p.m. Military rites will be held by the Logan County Veterans Honor Guard.
Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home, 321 North Main Street, Bellefontaine, assisted the family with arrangements.
