George Burton


George E. “Bill” Burton, 69, of Bellefontaine, Ohio, went to be with his Lord and Savior Thursday, December 31, 2009, at his residence. He was born in Logan County July 3, 1940, the son of the late Paul William and Georgia A. (Wortman) Burton.

He met and married the love of his life, the former Jean Ward on September 21, 1962, in Bellefontaine, Ohio.

Bill loved and will be missed by his wife Jean, sons, John (Joni) Burton of Rushsylvania, Ohio, and Joe (Tracey) Burton of Bellefontaine; six grandchildren, Andrea, Bethany, Nicole, Kylee, Nicolas, and Sydney Burton; a great grandson, Holden John; brothers, Paul “Rick” Burton of Huntsville, Ohio, Steve “Mike” Burton of Bellefontaine, Ben (Kay) Burton of West Liberty, Ohio; and sisters, Gail Harman of Bellefontaine and Bonnie (Mike) Fogle of Holland, Ohio; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. A sister, Pat Bobon, preceded him in death.

Bill retired as a tool and die maker and spent most of his career at D.A.B Industries.

He was a member of the Muchinippi Church in Lewistown, Ohio, and was an avid Ohio State Buckeye Football and Cincinnati Reds fan. He enjoyed working in his tool shop and spending time with his family.

Calling hours are Monday, January 4, 2010, from 2 to 4 P.M. and 6 to 8 P.M. at the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine, where the funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 5, 2010, at 11:00 A.M. Burial will be in the Greenwood-Union Cemetery in DeGraff, Ohio.
