George Manly Heizer, 82, of Reynoldsburg, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, October 18, 2011, at the Echo Manor in Pickerington, Ohio. He was born July 23, 1929 in South Vienna, Ohio, to the late Edward and Elizabeth (Redman) Heizer.
Surviving is his wife, Martha (Fields) Heizer; a daughter, Deborah (William) Teeters of Blacklick, Ohio; a son, James R. (Jenny) Heizer of Reynoldsburg, Ohio; brothers, James (Anna) Heizer of Kenton, Ohio, Ken (Kay) Heizer of Wichita, Kansas, Robert (Flo) Heizer of Dayton, Ohio, Pearl (Gail) Heizer of Nashville, Tennessee, Fred Heizer of Columbus, Ohio, and Tom (Ellen) Heizer of West Mansfield, Ohio: sisters, Eleanor (Tim) Butler of Marysville, Ohio, Mary (Glenn) Wagner of West Mansfield, Ohio, and Phyllis (Raleigh) Oliver of Bellefontaine, Ohio; 4 grandsons, 4 step grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, David M. Heizer and sisters, Anna Smelzer and Dora Woods.
George worked at Rockwell International in Kenton, Ohio for thirty plus years and retired as a Supervisor in 1992. He had his pilot’s license and enjoyed flying and playing in his go-karts.
Pastor Dennis Burns will conduct the 11:00 A.M. funeral service Saturday, October 22, 2011, at the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine, where friends may call one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in the Byhalia Cemetery at a later date.
