George R. Pool

George R. Pool, 84, of Bellefontaine, passed away on Tuesday, October 4, 2022, in Ayden Health Care of Belle Springs, Bellefontaine.

He was born in Clarksburg, Ohio on November 16, 1937, the son of the late Faye M. and Lucille (Lash) Pool.  He was also preceded in death by two sisters and four brothers.

Survivors include two brothers, Robert “Bob” (Joy) Pool of Bellefontaine and Roger (Patty) Pool of Bryan, OH, a daughter, Robin Williams, four grandchildren, Austin (Rhonda) Watson, Anthony (Emily) Watson, Abigail (Trisha) Watson, and Ava Watson, and many nieces and nephews.

George was a member of the First Friends Church in Bellefontaine and had worked in Sidney, Ohio for both LeRoi Corp. and Wagner’s Corp.  He was an avid sports fan and was big fans of the Cleveland Indians and Browns.  He loved to run and ran many marathons, winning his age group quite often. 

Pastor Matthew Sandlin will officiate a graveside service at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 20, 2022, in Bellefontaine Cemetery.
