George W. Zupp, 92, of Bellefontaine, Ohio, passed away Thursday, July 7, 2011, at Logan Acres Care Center in Bellefontaine. He was born in Belle Center, Ohio December 17, 1918, a son of the late George Mose and Freda M. Flickenger Zupp. He also was preceded in death by a brother, J. Donn Zupp; a sister, Martha McAlexander; and a brother-in-law, Vaughn McAlexander.
On September 8, 1946, he married the former Sally Paxson in Belle Center and she survives along with a daughter, Robin (Jim) Hesson of Ansonia, Ohio; a grandchild, Matt (Lisa) Forney of Dublin, Ohio; two great-grandchidlren, Austin and Dylan Forney; and a sister-in law, Jeanne Zupp of Bellefontaine.
George was a production control manager at DAB in Bellefontaine and liked to fly fish on Mad River. He was honored as a River Master for his upkeep of Mad River.
An Army Air Corps veteran of World War II, serving in India and Burma, he was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church in Bellefontaine, a lifetime member of the American Legion and member of the V.F.W., D.A.V. and the Elks Lodge.
Per Mr. Zupps request, his body was cremated and no services are planned.
