Georgia Anne Jackson, 87, of Bellefontaine, started her journey home at 7:10 a.m. on Wednesday, March 9, 2016 at Mary Rutan Hospital. She was born in Urbana, Ohio on April 19, 1928 to the late Clarence and Erma (West) Kohler.

On October 17, 1948 Georgia married Paul Willard Jackson, and he preceded her in death on November 8, 1993. She was also preceded in death by two daughters, Rachel A. Bollas’-Ramsey and Amy C. Brown; a son, Joseph L. Jackson; three grandchildren, Little “Eddie” and Cottie Jackson, and Adam Johnson; and four brothers, Allen, Thomas, Bob and Don Kohler.

Georgia is survived by her four daughters, Sarah R. Williams of Hubert, North Carolina, Erma R. (Earl) Davis of Mesa, Arizona, Betsy A. (Dennis) Johnson of Bellefontaine and Samantha S. (Tim Baker) Jackson of Urbana; five sons, Ralph E. (Wanda Redfield) Jackson of Oakdale, Connecticut, Charles S. (Judy) Jackson of Manchester, Michigan, Francis P. (Kathy) Jackson of St. Cloud, Florida, George O. (Cathy) Jackson of Bellefontaine and William H. Jackson of St. Cloud, Florida; a daughter-in-law, Pam Jackson; 31 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Judy Kohler; in-laws, Martha Jackson, Helen Mohr, Mary Ruth Jackson, Charles “Sonny” & Charlotte Jackson, and Howard “Bud” & Jeanine Jackson; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Georgia’s most important job was being a “Mom”, to not only her own children, but also an immeasurable number of youth in Logan County. A homemaker and avid artist, her talents included; sewing, writing, painting, singing, cooking, gardening and taking photography. It was a rare moment that Georgia was found not creating something beautiful. Georgia was a member of the Waynesfield United Methodist Church. She was known locally for the puppet shows she performed, for many years, while organizing the children’s program at the Middleburg United Methodist Church. Georgia was also instrumental in starting the Head Start Program in Logan County.

Visitation will be on Friday, March 11, 2016 from 4-8 p.m. at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home, 321 N. Main Street, Bellefontaine. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 12th at the funeral home with visitation one hour prior to the funeral. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Cemetery in West Liberty, Ohio.
