Gerald E. “Jerry” Inskeep, 77, of Bellefontaine, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, June 20, 2015 at Grant Medical Center, Columbus.
He was born on December 22, 1937 in Bellefontaine, Ohio a son of the late Herbert P. and Mary Lou (Mohr) Inskeep.
He married the former Connie Hunt and she preceded him in death in 2007. He was also preceded in death a brother, Donald Inskeep.
Survivors include daughters, Robin (Roger) Neer of Powell, Ohio, Shelley Inskeep of Belle Center, Jana (Jim) Strzalka of West Liberty; a son, Todd (Tammy) Inskeep of West Liberty; 10 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and numerous cousins, relatives and many friends; his significant other, Kaye Cook of Bellefontaine and his beloved dog Tia II.
He had served with the National Guard and was a 1956 graduate of Bellefontaine High School. He was proud of the cabins he helped build at Camp Clifton and was a member of the 4-H and the Logan County Fair Board. He enjoyed spending time in Fernandina Beach, Florida near Amelia Island. He loved his family very much.
Gene Marine will conduct an 11 a.m. funeral service on Thursday, June 25, 2015 at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home, 321 North Main Street, Bellefontaine, where friends may call on Wednesday, June 24, 2015 from 5 – 8 p.m. Entombment will be in Highland Memorial Cemetery Mausoleum, West Liberty, Ohio.
