Geraldine “Jerri” Mae McDonald, 87, of Bellefontaine, Ohio, passed away Wednesday morning, January 1, 2014 at her home.
She was born in Logan County Ohio June 27, 1926, to the late Philander and Edith (Lambert) Nickell.
On May 16, 1946, she married Robert S. McDonald in Rushsylvania, Ohio and he preceded her in death January 12, 1999. Jerri was also preceded in death by a son, William Lee McDonald; brothers, George Nickell and her twin, Gerald Ray Nickell; a sister, Katie Pritchard, and three great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her mother and father-in-law, Marion and Robert McDonald.
Jerri is survived by sons, Robert D. (Rita) McDonald of DeGraff, Ohio, Les H. (Becky) McDonald of Bellefontaine; daughters, Beverly Streator of Bellefontaine, Paula Wilcoxon of Zanesfield, Ohio, Janice Shreve of Bellefontaine, and Peggy (Marvin) Wilcoxon of Bellefontaine; seventeen grandchildren; forty four great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; her sister and brother-in-law, Pat and Don Saylor of Perrysville, Ohio, and special friends Pat Snapp and Lillian Davis, both of Bellefontaine.
Jerri was a member of the Harper United Methodist Church since the age of six, and was a member of the United Methodist Women. Recently, she was attending the Church of the Brethren in Bellefontaine. She had worked as an assembler at Bulldog Electric. Jerri was also active with the Mary Rutan Hospital Guild and the Senior Citizens. She was an avid fisherman, and avid Ohio State Buckeyes and Cincinnati Reds fan.
Pastor Fred Clogg will officiate the funeral service at the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine Saturday, January 4, 2014 at 11 A.M. Calling hours will be held Friday, January 3, 2014 at the funeral home from 4 to 7 P.M. Interment will be at the Rushsylvania Cemetery in Rushsylvania, Ohio.
