Geraldine Rogers, 86, of Bellefontaine passed away Wednesday, May 4, 2016 in Logan Acres Care Center.
She was born on June 28, 1929 in Logan County, the daughter of the late Alfred and Nellie Marie (Stansbury) Routt.
On August 29, 1951 in Richmond, IN, she married Orville Kenneth “Red” Rogers and he preceded her in death on September 24, 2015. She is also preceded in death by her twin sister, Maxine Marie and another sister, Anna Mae Routt Neer, and two brothers, Norris Fredrick and John William Routt.
Geraldine is survived by a daughter, Victoria (Rick) Mortimore of Cincinnati and son, Kenny Rogers of Bellefontaine: four granddaughters, Mandy (Joey) Broome of Huntsville, AL, Inez (Scott) Seaman of Milford, OH, Jennifer (Tom) Hamilton of Batavia, OH and Melissa Rogers of Marysville; seven great grandchildren, Emily, Matthew, Molly, Katherine, Abby, Lexy and Ally; and many nieces and nephews.
She had attended New Salem Lutheran Church and was a member of both the VFW and EAGLES Auxiliary in Bellefontaine. She loved to garden and spent much of her time canning vegetables for her family. She also enjoyed fishing with her late husband as well as trips to Michigan for mushroom picking. Most of all, she enjoyed time spent with her family and friends.
Pastor Jeffory Willetts will officiate a funeral service at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home, 321 N. Main St. Bellefontaine. Visitation will be on Monday at the funeral home from 5 until 8 p.m. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery, West Liberty.
