Geraldine Ruble, 87, of Belle Center, Ohio, died at 7:07 P.M. Friday, April 10, 2009, at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Kenton, Ohio. She was born January 1, 1922, in Logan County, a daughter of the late Charles and Cleta Houchin Royer.
On May 28, 1940, she married Alpha R. Ruble in Bellefontaine, Ohio, and he preceded her in death February 6, 2004. She also was preceded in death by a daughter, Marilyn S. Ruble; a brother, Paul Royer; a sister, Grace Vance; two granddaughters, Cindy Ruble Bair on September 5, 2002, and Sundee Ruble Kritzwiser on November 26, 2002; and a brother- in-law, Homer Dean.
Survivors include a daughter, Judy (John) Pearson of Kenton; four sons, Don (Essie) Ruble and John Ruble, both of Belle Center, Ohio, Ed (Sue) Ruble of Springfield, Ohio, and Bill (Joyce) Ruble of Bellefontaine; eight grandchildren, Lori (Jim) Clary, Donna (Ken) Gilroy, Jerry (Tracy) Ruble, Brad (Kim) Pearson, David Pearson, Jason (Heidi) Pearson, Mike (Kelly) Ruble and Brock (Anna) Ruble; nineteen great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; sisters- in-law, Virginia Royer of Belle Center and Dorothy Dean of Columbus; and several nieces and nephews.
Known by her friends as “Deanie” or “Jerri”, she was a devoted homemaker, loving mother and grandmother who worked with her husband at Yoder Brothers Market in Belle Center. She was a member of the Belle Center United Methodist Church, attended school in Belle Center and was a former member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Belle Center.
Rev. Rosie Michael will conduct the funeral service at 11 A.M. Wednesday, April, 15, 2009, at the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Belle Center, where calling hours are from 4 P.M. to 8 P.M. Tuesday, April 14, 2009. Burial is in the Fairview Cemetery in Belle Center.
