Gilbert “Bud” Adams Kinney, 89, of Rushsylvania, went to be with the LORD on Thursday, February 23, 2012. He was born on August 3, 1922 near Circleville, Ohio to the late Gilbert W. and Leah Kinney.
On September 1, 1942 he married the former Marilyn E. Johnson and she preceded him in death on December 13, 2008. Also preceding him in death were 2 sisters, Nina Sieg and Doris Mitchell, and a granddaughter, DeeAnna M. Kinney Batton.
Surviving is a son, John (Scarlett) Kinney of Ridgeway; 2 daughters, Karen (Thomas) Goff of Zanesfield, and Kathleen (Gary) Davis of Rushsylvania; a sister, Garnet Gross of Bowling Green; 3 grandchildren, Troy (Christy) Kinney, Kristin (Chad) Durian, and Sara Goff; and 2 great grandchildren, Miranda and Kyra Batton.
Into his late eighties, Bud continued as an enthusiastic dairy, beef and grain farmer; a husbandman of animals; an avid reader; a dedicated father; and a doting grandfather. By living example Bud imparted to others a high appreciation for "family love," the integrity of land and nature, and the satisfaction which results from a diligent work ethic. Bud was a member of the Rushsylvania United Methodist Church.
Visitation is scheduled for Thursday, March 1st from 4 to 7 pm at the Rushsylvania Church of Christ where Pastor Chuck Temple will officiate at an 11:00 am funeral service on Friday, March 2nd. Burial will follow in the Equality Cemetery, Rushsylvania.
