Gilmore “Gil” Hannah, 88, of Piqua, Ohio and formerly of Lakeview, Ohio passed away Friday, April 19, 2013 at Lima Memorial Hospital in Lima, Ohio.

He was born July 17, 1924 in Knox County, Indiana to the late Joel and Wilma (Gilmore) Hannah. He married the former Betty M. Barcus February 7, 1946 in Dayton, Ohio, and she preceded him in death February 6, 1999. Gil was also preceded in death by three daughters, Lois Ann Willett, Wilma Jean Hannah and Mary Ellen Gwin, and a brother, James M. Hannah.

Gil is survived by his grandson Jeremy (Virginia McBee) Stacy of Dayton, Ohio, a great-grandson Brandon Stacy, and many close friends.

Gil was a veteran of the United States Navy where he served in World War II. He worked for the United States Postal Service and retired as a supervisor in 1972. Gil was a member of the Dayton Masonic Lodge #147, Antioch Shrine and Bellefontaine Commandry. He was a life-member of the Roundhead VFW Post #8832 and a member of the Indian Lake Eagles #3615, where he was a past state officer.

Calling hours will be held Wednesday, April 24, 2013 at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home in Belle Center, Ohio from 12 noon to 2 P.M. with an Eagles service at 2 P.M. Interment will follow at the Fairview Cemetery in Belle Center with military honors provided by the Logan County Honor Guard.
