Gladys Ethelyn “Lynn” Hostetler, 80, of West Liberty passed away Thursday evening, December 24, 2015 at Mary Rutan Hospital, Bellefontaine. She was born in Sarasota, Florida on October 19, 1935 to the late W.T. and Verna (Posey) Merriman. She was also preceded in death by a sister Audria Cribbs.

A 1953 graduate of Sarasota (FL) High School, Lynn was a homemaker and spent many years working for the West Liberty-Salem Schools. She was a former treasurer for the schools and had been the high school cheerleading advisor for many years. Lynn later was clerk for West Liberty and taught baton lessons and water aerobics. She was a member of the West Liberty United Church of Christ.

Lynn is survived by her husband, William L. Hostetler, whom she married on June 4, 1954 in West Liberty and he survives in West Liberty. She is also survived by her children, Peggy (Neil) Wirick of West Liberty, Sandy (Randy) Knox of Marysville and Karrie (Van) Winters of Venice, Florida; eleven grandchildren: Lee (Laura), Dustin, Susannah (Andrew), Daniel, Alan (JuEunhae), Asher, Anna, Aydan, Promesse, Dana (Nathan) and Brandon; three great-grandchildren: Ava, Stella and Sienna; a brother W.T. (Marlene) Merriman II of Sarasota, Florida and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 30, 2015 from 4-7pm at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home, West Liberty. Pastor Dick Barrett will officiate the funeral on Thursday, December 31, 2015 at 10am at the funeral home. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, West Liberty.
