Glenda Marie Ratleff, 54, of Bellefontaine departed this world to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 2, 2016 at 9:00am at Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus.

Glenda was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on May 8, 1961 to Ralph David and Ola M. Ratleff, but was raised in Bellefontaine. She was preceded in death by her father Ralph David Ratleff, Sr., a sister Dawn Renee Ratleff Roberts and a brother Ralph David Ratleff, Jr.

Glenda is survived by her mother, Ola M. Ratleff of Bellefontaine; 2 sons: Tyrone C. (Tricia) Coleman and Kody T. Roberts and a daughter Kelsey A. Roberts, all of Bellefontaine; 2 grandsons: Tevin J. Burris and Takoda N. Coleman; 2 nieces, Shasta Roberts and Stephanie Roberts; and Quincy Owens of Kenton, who she considered a son. She also leaves behind many cousins and friends who she considered to be the greatest people to ever enter her life.

Glenda attended First Friends Church and was strong in her faith, she shared God’s word whenever given the chance. Her church family played a very big part in her life. She was employed by Logan County Discovery Center for 20 years through 2015. Caring for other people’s children was so enjoyable to her – no matter what the challenge. She truly felt blessed to be able to do what she enjoyed and that was working and appreciating the faith of a child.

Glenda loved to laugh, she always found the humor in every situation. She did not believe in praying about something and stress about it; she would say “your faith isn’t really there. You got to do one or the other, but they don’t go together.” She loved taking long walks and writing poetry. Spending time with family was always on the top of the list.

Pastor Matt Sandlin will officiate the funeral service on Saturday, January 9, 2016 at First Friends Church, Bellefontaine at 1pm. Visitation will be held at the church two hours prior to the service. Burial will be in Bellefontaine Cemetery.
