Gordon “Doc” Hugh Holliday, 60, of West Liberty, Ohio, passed away Thursday, April 9, 2009 at his residence. He was born June 15, 1948, the son of the late, Hugh Emerson and Eva Belle (Watkins) Holliday.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy L. Spencer, his daughter, Tracy (George) Taylor of Chillicothe, Ohio, a sister, Karen (Christian) Oberlies of Bellefontaine, Ohio; two grandchildren, Madison Grace Holycross and Chelcie Lee Taylor; a niece, Kim (Joe) Page of Dayton, Ohio; a nephew, Daniel (Stacey) Kerns of Urbana Ohio, 3 great nieces and 2 great nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Russell Zahs.
Doc was a 1966 graduate of Bellefontaine High School and served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam conflict. He worked as an associate with Wal-Mart in Bellefontaine for the last five years. Doc enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and also meeting and talking with people. He always made time to help anyone in need.
Calling hours will be from 6 to 8 P.M. Monday, April 13, 2009, at the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine. There will be a memorial service at a later date.
