Gordon Wilcox

Gordon L. Wilcox, 77, of Bellefontaine, passed away at 9:24 a.m. on Tuesday, July 5, 2016, at his home surrounded by his family. Gordon was born in Hardin County on March 11, 1939 to the late Harold and Dorothy (McMillen) Wilcox. On July 12, 1964 he married the former Janet L. Allmon and she survives.

He is also survived by two sisters, Sharon (Norman) Quay of DeGraff and Jayne (Larry) Mackesy of Lakeview; a daughter he never had, Debra (Keith) Riefstahl of Quincy; a son he never had, Donnie Williams of Quincy; very special friend, Kim Leugers of Belle Center; and several nieces and nephews.

Gordon was a 1957 Washington Local graduate. He was a mechanic for 47 years. Gordon enjoyed building and racing stock cars in his early years. He worked for John Rudasill Garage, Ed Gillespie Garage, Daring Chevrolet Dealership, and retired from TRC after 24 years. Gordon was a member of the Bellefontaine F.O.E. #2166, where he was a past president and a Golden Age Eagle.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 9, 2016 at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home, 321 N. Main Street, Bellefontaine. Visitation will be Friday, July 8, 2016 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home; with a Fraternal Order of Eagles service at 7 p.m. Burial will be in Harper Cemetery in Rushcreek Township.
