Gwendolyn “Gwen” Jocele Foreman, 78, of Bellefontaine, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, November 16, 2011 at The Ohio State University Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio. She was born in Bellefontaine, September 26, 1933, to the late Herman LeRoy and Elouise Ervine (Rogers) Aulls.
She is survived by her husband, Charles “Pete” A. Foreman, whom she married July 27, 1974 at the First Christian Church in Bellefontaine. Also surviving are their children, Timothy “Tim” D. (Susan) O’Rielley, Teresa “Teri” L. (John) Stevens, Bruce A. (Bernice) Foreman, all of Bellefontaine, Rickey “Rick” A. Foreman of Bonita Springs, Florida and Merita “Lynn” Haney of Louisiana; her siblings, Robert “Bob” (Betty) Aulls of Bellefontaine, John (Katie) Aulls of New Straitsville, Ohio and Shirley (Walter) Brown of West Sacramento, California; grandchildren, Keri Fergus, Kelly (Mike) Ruble, Katie (Adam) Palmer, Jill (Matt) Meighan, Rebecca “Becky” O’Rielley, Bryan Foreman, Joshua and Jason Haney and Justin Alexander, and twelve great great grandchildren.
Gwen worked as a secretary/bookkeeper from 1967 to 1982 at the local radio station, which at that time was WOHP and WTOO. From 1983 to 2000, seventeen years, she worked for the City of Bellefontaine as a Clerk/Supervisor for the utility department.
A 1951 graduate of Bellefontaine High School, she was a member of the First Christian Church in Bellefontaine where she was a member of the choir and the Fidelis Sunday School Class. She also was a member of the Bona Fida King’s Daughter’s and Sons, V.F.W. Auxiliary and the American Legion Auxiliary. For many years, she worked the election polls. Gwen loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren and would always try to attend as many activities as possible.
Calling hours are Sunday, November 20, 2011, from 3 to 6 P.M. at the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine. Pastor F. Michael Valentine will officiate the 11:00 A.M. funeral service Monday, November 21, 2011 at the First Christian Church in Bellefontaine. Interment will follow the funeral service at the Bellefontaine Cemetery in Bellefontaine.
