Harold R. Evans, 73, of Russells Point passed away peacefully at home at 6:25 p.m. on Friday, June 5, 2015. He was born in West Union, Ohio on January 18, 1942 to the late Dale W. and Elma Sarah (Reed) Evans.
On June 11, 1963 he married the former Bonnie L. Godwin in West Union, Ohio and she preceded him in death on February 14, 2002. He then married the former Carla (Moore) and she survives in Russells Point. He was also preceded in death by a sister Louise Young and two brothers, Bob and Ralph Evans.
Harold is survived by seven children, Douglas (Angela) Evans of Sidney, Pamela (William) Morrison of DeGraff, Cynthia (Billy) Giles of Lakeview, Mark (Tylaina) Evans of Huntsville, Elizabeth (Jeremy) Burd of Russells Point, Patricia (Michael) Pikey-Evans of Huntsville and Annabelle Evans of Russells Point; 27 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; two brothers, Donald (Charlotte) Evans of Dayton and Larry (Joyce) Evans of Blue Creek; and several nieces and nephews.
A supervisor at Mid-States Container in DeGraff for many years, Harold retired from Quincy Castings. He was a member of the Mt. Tabor Church of God and enjoyed fishing, hunting, shooting guns and feeding birds and squirrels. He most enjoyed the time he spent with his grandchildren and family, especially during family cookouts. He will be greatly missed by his family, but his love always lives.
Brother Nathan Price will officiate a funeral service at 12 noon on Monday, June 8, 2015 at the Daring & Sanford Funeral Home, 210 W. Hayes Street, DeGraff, Ohio with visitation two hours prior to the funeral. Burial will be in Greenwood-Union Cemetery in DeGraff.
