Harold F. James, 86, of Bellefontaine, passed away at 5:13 p.m. on Tuesday, December 8, 2015 at his home. He was born in Hardin County, Ohio on April 11, 1929 to the late John Francis and Carrie (Yoakum) James.
On May 5, 1956 Harold married the former Barbara Yelton, and she preceded him in death on July 27, 2009. He was also preceded in death by a grandchild, four sisters, Georgia James, Marguerite James, Virginia Yoder, and Annabella Sanders; six brothers, Ted, Clare, Willis, Mickey and Donald James; two half-brothers, John Augustus and Lloyd Francis James.
Harold is survived by his six children; Robert (Tammy) James, Nancy (Phillip) Ritter, Dave (Diane) James, Betty (Tom) Bodi, Bonnie Sharp, and Dennis James; 13 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; a sister, Grace Bullock; a brother, Leonard James; and several nieces and nephews.
A World War II Veteran, Harold was a life-long truck driver and “regular” at the Homecoming Restaurant.
Visitation will be held on Friday, December 11, 2015 from 5-8 p.m. at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home, 321 N. Main Street, Bellefontaine. Pastor Philip Wolf will officiate a funeral service at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 12th at the funeral home. Burial will be in Huntsville Cemetery in Huntsville, Ohio.
Funeral arrangements are in care of the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home in Bellefontaine.
