Harriet Kies

Harriet M. Kies, 79, of Bellefontaine, Ohio, passed away Friday, August 6, 2010 in the Logan Acres Care Center in Bellefontaine. She was born April 11, 1931, the daughter of the late Harry P. and Marie (Miller) Roebuck.

She is survived by her husband, Henry A. “Hank” Kies, whom she married June 22, 1952 in Belle Center, Ohio; two sons, Henry “Hal” Kies, Jr. of Columbus, Ohio, and Jeffrey (Heather) Kies of Los Angeles, California; one daughter, Jennifer L. (George) Wilkins of Bellefontaine; a brother, Ron (Garnet) Roebuck of Belle Center; a sister, Lois P. Roebuck of Columbus, Ohio, and grandchildren; Korie Marie (Kris) Keary of Troy, Michigan, Megan Leigh (Johnny) Reynolds of Memphis, Tennessee, Vanessa Wilkins of Bellefontaine, and Lili Kies of California; and one great grandson, Benjamin Keary.

She was a 1949 graduate of Belle Center High School and was a long time member of the Bellefontaine First United Methodist Church and was also a member of the Bellefontaine Lion’s Club as well as the King’s Daughters of Belle Center.

The funeral service will be at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, August 11, 2010, at the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine, with Rev. Ed Beale officiating. Calling hours will be from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. Tuesday, August 10, 2010, at the funeral home in Bellefontaine.
