Harrison Morton Tevis, Jr., 93, of Bellefontaine, passed away Sunday, June 30, 2024, at his residence.
He was born in Monroe Township, Logan County, Ohio on July 23, 1930, the son of the late Harrison Morton Sr. and Emma Lee (Karr) Tevis. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four sisters and seven brothers.
On June 9, 1953, he married Betty Jo (Cummings) Tevis and she survives along with a son, Jeffrey (Marsha) Tevis of Huntsville, two daughters, Karen (Doug) LeVally of Ridgeway, Jane Tevis of Bellefontaine, five grandchildren and six great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Harrison was a 1949 graduate of West Mansfield High School and served his country during the Korean War, serving in the U.S. Army. He worked 36 years for Super Foods until his retirement in 1992. He enjoyed coaching youth baseball when his son played and was an avid sports fan, rooting for the Cincinnati Reds, Green Bay Packers, The Ohio State Buckeyes Basketball, and WWE Wrestling. He loved to watch his grandchildren participate in sports and activities and enjoyed fishing for catfish and he always loved a good ice cream cone.
Pastor Ken Neighoff will officiate a graveside funeral service in Bellefontaine Cemetery on Friday, July 5, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. with military rites provided by the Logan County Veteran Honor Guard.
