Hazel G. Moore of Zanesfield, Ohio went to be with her Lord and Savior from her home Thursday, December 12, 2013. Born August 5, 1917 in Ridgeway, Ohio, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Florence (Ramsey) Daniel.
She married Dennis “Herb” Moore in Greenup County, Kentucky February 3, 1941. He preceded her in death in December 1972, and she missed him greatly. Also preceding her in death were three brothers and four sisters. She is survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and caring friends.
Hazel graduated in the Ridgeway High School class of 1935. She worked at the Boston Navy Yard while her husband was in the Armed Forces. She retired as an assembler and tester at Siemens Energy and Automation in Bellefontaine after thirty years of service.
She was an active and loved member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Bellefontaine since joining in 1982. Hazel traveled to many countries of the world over the years with her husband and later with friends. She enjoyed knitting, flowers, music (played the organ and piano), reading and feeding and watching hummingbirds. Hazel was active in the community through various service organizations contributing many hours of service and donations.
She enjoyed her home in the country and, with the help of neighbors, friends and family, was able to remain there.
Hazel will be missed by so many who enjoyed her sense of humor and wonderful smile, but especially by her family who cared deeply for her.
A service to celebrate her life will be held at the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine. An hour of calling will begin at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, December 18, 2013, with a memorial service at 12:00 noon officiated by her pastor, Jeff Willetts. Interment will follow the memorial service at the Plum Cemetery where she will be laid to rest next to her husband.
