Hazel B. Stewart, 81, of West Mansfield, Ohio passed away Friday, January 20, 2012 at 2:40 P.M. at Mary Rutan Hospital in Bellefontaine, Ohio. She was born February 22, 1930 in Forest, Ohio, the daughter of the late Charles E. and Ella (Baker) Loubert.
On February 21, 1947, she married Richard Robert Stewart in Kentucky, and he preceded her in death in 1985. She was also preceded in death by a son, James Stewart in 1948, a granddaughter, Miranda Stewart in 1991 and a brother, Charles E. “Bud” Loubert.
She is survived by nine children; Larry (Carolyn) Stewart of Zanesfield, Ohio, Peggy Stewart of Kenton, Ohio, Garry (Charlotte) Stewart of Marysville, Ohio, Nancy (Robert) Karg of Bellefontaine, Kerry (Cathy) Stewart of Delaware, Ohio, Jerry (Mary Lou) Stewart of Texas, Barry Stewart of Kenton, Terry (Glenda) Stewart of Pharisburg, Ohio and Merry Stewart of West Mansfield; eight grandchildren, two great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Hazel worked as a homemaker and was a longtime member of the American Legion #603 in West Mansfield. She loved to travel, jewelry and going out to eat with her family and was an animal lover, especially horses and cats.
A visitation of remembrance will be held from 5 to 8 P.M. Monday, January 23, 2012 at the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Belle Center, Ohio. There will be a private interment at a later date.
The staff of the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Belle Center assisted the family with arrangements.
