Helen B. Boyer, 96, of Bellefontaine, passed away at 10:39 a.m. on Monday, December 12, 2016 at her residence. She was born in Ross County, Ohio on June 20, 1920 to the late Charles and Nannie (Ross) Weaver. On May 17, 1940, she married Forest “Penn” Boyer and he preceded her in death April 4, 2011. She was also preceded in death by a grandson, Ernie “Peewee” Boyer.
She is survived by her son, Ernest Boyer of Bellefontaine; grandchildren, Michael (Kristy) Boyer and Brandy (Michelle) Boyer; 7 great grandchildren and 8 step-great grandchildren; sister, Janet of Bellefontaine; numerous great–great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Helen loved to cook for family and friends and you never left her house with an empty stomach. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting. Helen loved listening and playing Bluegrass music. She and her husband, Penn, had their own Bluegrass band. Helen had a gift of always making people laugh and she will be greatly missed.
Visitation will be Friday, December 16, 2016 from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 321 N. Main Street, Bellefontaine, Ohio. Pastor Bryan Meadows will officiate a graveside service at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, December 16th at the Huntsville Cemetery.
