Helen Jean Durflinger, 80, of Rushsylvania passed away Thursday morning, December 10, 2015 at Mary Rutan Hospital.
Jean was born in Rushsylvania on July 22, 1935 to the late Orville Calvin and Helen Mae (Nevers) Linebaugh. Jean married Donald A. Durflinger on August 26, 1955 and he preceded her in death on February 3, 2008. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Orville Linebaugh Jr. and William Linebaugh.
Jean worked at Westinghouse and then as a receptionist at Mary Rutan Hospital where she retired after fifteen years. She enjoyed NASCAR and loved spending time with her family, her cat and her best friend Pam Hurst.
Jean is survived by her children, Michael (Mary Ann) Durflinger of Bellefontaine, Lori (Richard) Johnson of Belle Center, Brenda (Jack) Leonard of Belle Center, and John Durflinger of Rushsylvania; eleven grandchildren: Amy Durflinger, Justin Durflinger, Lindsay Durflinger, Aaron Johnson, Wendy (Wade) Richardson, Greg (Brittony) Leonard, Brandi (Don) Daniels, Devon Durflinger, Summer Durflinger, Autumn Durflinger and Brianna (Matt) Phelps; eleven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 12, 2015 from 10am – 12noon at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home, Belle Center. Pastor Kevin Smith will officiate the graveside service Saturday at 12:30pm at Rushsylvania Cemetery.
